Owned by Cadogan, whose estate spans 93 acres of Chelsea and Knightsbridge, 11 Cadogan Gardens is nestled behind the heart of Sloane Square, offering the ultimate private escape for travelers. Often referred to as “Chelsea’s best kept secret,” this hidden gem boasts a rich history and an enchanting atmosphere.

A Historical Marvel
Originally built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th century, 11 Cadogan Gardens is comprised of four Victorian townhouses, which contributes to the hotel’s unique layout filled with an array of corridors, staircases, and hallways. The style resonates with opulence, drama, and decadence, while a sense of individuality prevails throughout the property. Although elegant and refined, the hotel exudes a moody and seductive charm. Once a private members club frequented by the fashionable upper class, it is renowned for its privacy and unrivaled luxury.
Dining at Hans’ Bar & Grill
At the heart of this luxurious experience is the much-loved Hans’ Bar & Grill. It offers a delicious all-day service in a serene, oasis-like setting, with menus rooted in local British produce. Taking inspiration from Sir Hans Sloane, an iconic Chelsea physician known for introducing chocolate to the UK, the restaurant features chocolate desserts and signature hot chocolate drinks that take center stage.

Delightful Cocktails at The Chelsea Bar
The Chelsea Bar, located in the main townhouse, presents a moody and seductive ambiance, specializing in an extensive cocktail menu, particularly known for its Negroni variations. Signature drinks include the “Cadogan Negroni,” made with Campari, Cognac XO, Apricot Liqueur, and Peychaud’s Bitters, as well as the “Pickled Negroni,” featuring Lustau Sherry, Campari, and Pickled Grapefruit.
In honor of World Bee Day, Nico Orduz crafted a special cocktail called Queen Bee, combining an artisanal Irish honey with Hennessy cognac. The wild mulberry honey, which has a refreshing sorbet-like taste, complements the Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège cognac’s fruity, vanilla, and spiced palate. This harmonious blend pays tribute to the bees and aligns with Hennessy’s commitment to sustainability, aiming to eliminate herbicides by 2028 and planting flowers in their vineyards.

Relaxation and Retreats
The hotel’s Terrace provides a tranquil haven away from the city’s hustle, perfect for soaking up sunshine and enjoying a chilled glass of Champagne, particularly during Wimbledon in July. The Drawing Room invites guests to unwind in a cozy atmosphere accented with a blend of warm fabrics and light floral patterns, ideal for indulging in afternoon tea.
One of the hotel’s most photographed spaces, the dramatic “Alice in Wonderland-esque” Mirror Room, not only offers stunning backdrops for memorable images but doubles as a secret entrance to two Cadogan suites. With floor-to-ceiling mirrors and gold details, it truly stands out.

The Library and Seasonal Celebrations
Guests can also retreat to the serene Library, adorned with contemporary furniture and a striking antler chandelier, featuring shelves lined with historic and antique books dating back to the 19th century. Each May, the hotel participates in Chelsea in Bloom, adorning its red brick exterior with themed floral displays, including their gold-winning “Under The Sea” extravaganza.
Luxurious Accommodations
Several suites offer private entrances, catering to high-profile guests seeking utmost discretion. Notably, the one-bedroom Cadogan Suites overlook Pavilion Road and include a separate living room, suitable for longer stays. Among the luxurious offerings, the Sloane Suite overlooks Cadogan Gardens and exemplifies the elegant style associated with 11 Cadogan, featuring a private entrance and a separate lounge area.

The lavish Velasquez Suite, named after Spanish painter Diego Velázquez, boasts heavy velvet and brocade features, a stunning Murano glass chandelier, and an opulent four-poster bed, set against a romantic red and black color palette.
With its unique blend of history, luxury, and privacy, the 11 Cadogan Gardens stands as a true gem in the heart of Chelsea, inviting guests to relax, indulge, and enjoy their stay in London.
